Thank you to everyone who attended and participated. If you weren’t able to make it, we missed you and hope to see you next time.

Here is what we talked about:

In the Morning

In the morning, we kicked off the meeting with a brief overview of the LifeCourse framework and its principles. Watch the livestream:

Trajectory toward Meaningful Day & Employment
At tables, attendees selected a target age group and created a trajectory toward either a meaningful day or employment.

Integrated Supports for Meaningful Day & Employment
Each table completed a star for what supports are needed to have a meaningful day or employment.

In the Afternoon

Icon: TransitionCase study: Susan’s Good Life at Transition
After lunch, attendees switched tables and then worked together to complete a Good Life Portfolio for Susan, a young woman with a hearing disability. The  case study borrowed from a college educational class. Feedback from tables was that the Portfolio made thinking through and having a strengths-based conversation about Susan’s transition a lot easier.

Sheli walked through how Charting the LifeCourse has spread across the country (and even the world) and how it started right here at home in Missouri, back in 2011 with a simple table in Microsoft Word.

Since so many awesome things are happening around Charting the LifeCourse (thanks to you!), we have had to have a lot of conversations internally at the IHD about formalizing our network.

MOF2F developed a proposed structure to sustain the broader stakeholder group and cover expenses since we are 100% grant-funded so that we can sustain the work of the stakeholder’s group and keep up with the demand for our offerings. We shared this at the meeting and it was positively received by attendees.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is partnering with stakeholders to review the state Support Coordination system for any needed enhancements that assist with the provision of quality Support Coordination. This will include a review of the core foundational pieces of Support Coordination in order to better define the Support Coordination role and purpose. In response to the HCBS Rule, this review will particularly look at the knowledge, skills and standards for person centered planning that promotes a good life for people with developmental disabilities.

The Division contracted with UMKC Institute for Human Development, UCEDD, to facilitate this process and collect feedback from an array of stakeholders, including a project advisory group, to guide final recommendations.

    How to Provide Feedback:
